Lanna was founded by my husband, Paul, in 1993. Paul devoted his time and energy into developing a school for our children and the community. Unfortunately, soon after the doors opened, the tragic and untimely death of my loving and caring husband left much unfinished work. It was up to my children and I to see that his dreams and livelihood lived on by making the school into what we knew it could be.

LIST is a special place for my family and I. It has flourished into something more than I ever expected. I’ve been able to draw together educators and staff that share my vision of making LIST into a place where children can receive a great education without it costing a fortune. Every day holds a new challenge, but as long as I continue to make LIST a place where children enjoy coming to further their education then I believe I’ve successfully carried on Paul’s dream. “I thank the community of students, parents and teachers that help make this a special place that I continue to believe in and work long hours to make as good as it can be.”

More than twenty years working in the educational field, it has been a long journey. I worked for a language school teaching career people to speak English for 6 years before moving to Nakornpayap ���ϲ����� School where I stayed for 19 years. There, I worked as a teacher assistant, Kindergarten teacher, Thai teacher, Thai Principal, and finally Deputy Director. In 2013, I was delighted to be offered the opportunity to take on my current position as Director at Lanna ���ϲ����� School.

It was such a rewarding experience that I decided to pursue education as a career here in Thailand. While working at the Chiang Mai University Language Institute over the following 7 years as an English and Business teacher, I furthered my education and became a licensed Secondary Maths and ESOL teacher in the US. At LANNA, I teach A Level Business and IGCSE Enterprise. Aside from teaching, I also currently serve as Head of Humanities, LQ Coordinator (school magazine), and boys basketball coach. I am from Louth, Ireland. I completed my degree in Dublin and have spent the last couple of years teaching English in both my hometown and Dublin.
I've always loved to travel and experience new places and cultures. I spent a couple of months living and working in Vancouver in 2019 and I tried to travel to different cities in Europe as often as I could. Munich and Bratislava have been my favourite so far. I have been planning on living and working in Asia since I started my teaching degree and I am very excited to have gotten the opportunity to teach English at Lanna.

I am from Jaffna, a city in the north of Sri Lanka. Prior to joining Lanna, I was the Head of the Mathematics Department at Sayfol ���ϲ����� School Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. My career path started in 2001 as a Lecturer of Mathematics. Two years later, I joined as a Secondary mathematics teacher at Colombo ���ϲ����� School Kandy, Sri Lanka where my leadership qualities were recognized. My leadership path progressed from a teacher to Head of Mathematics, then to the Head of Middle School and later to the Deputy Head of Secondary School. I have a deep passion for mathematics and love teaching mathematics.��

I have a daughter and a son. My wife is also a teacher of Tamil Language in a�� government school, in Sri Lanka. My family are also very eager to move to Thailand. I love travelling to other countries, as well as learning about other cultures. I also enjoy playing football, volleyball, swimming and cooking.��

I have over 20 years of experience in teaching IGCSE, A Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics courses, including Mechanics, Statistics and Decision Mathematics modulus, from different examination boards. I graduated in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science with honours in Statistics from the University of Aberdeen and later completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. I have been a teacher of mathematics for more than 20 years with 9 years experience in England and over 14 years internationally. I has worked in many countries worldwide and previously worked in China for 5 years. During my time in China, I led a very successful team of mathematics teachers where high standards were set, excellent IGCSE and A-level grades achieved, resulting in many of the top scholars’ gaining entry to the best universities in the United Kingdom and United States of America. Away from the rigours of academic life I am an avid traveller and have to date visited more than 50 countries, developing a passion for photography. Thailand is one of my favourite places to visit and I am very much looking forward to further developing my Thai language skills and my cultural understanding of Thailand.

I am a US-certified Biology teacher, born in Taiwan, but grew up in the international community of Bangkok. I have been teaching various bio-related science courses for the past 19 years in Taiwan and Thailand. I have many years of experience teaching Advanced Placement Biology. I believe school is the medium for students to shape themselves into what they can become, and teachers serve as facilitators to assist them in exploring their most inner/true potential. I wish to teach my students not only the knowledge of my subject matter, but also to teach them the ability to learn, to distinguish between good knowledge and bad knowledge, and to have fun through learning. Working as an Environmental Educator at Three-Generation Educational Farm (Thailand) for three years, I got the opportunity to tap into the vast world of Outdoor Education and Experiential Learning. At the Farm, I got the opportunity to create modules that were part of the school syllabus and implement it through farm sessions in Science, Sustainability and Circular Economy. I used the farm as an outdoor learning space for a wide range of students from nursery to Secondary. This made me realize my passion for teaching and decided to do my Masters in Secondary Education so that I could understand the ways we better learn, inspiring future generations to change the world and grow personally.

Hello future colleagues at Lanna! I am a qualified engineer and teacher who has been teaching all of the STEM subjects for the last 8 years in the UK, Vietnam and Thailand. I’m from Northern Ireland so I apologise in advance for any confusion initially caused by my accent - it’s much more tame than it was 10 years ago! I’ve visited Chiang Mai a few times and very much look forward to living and working there.

Hi everyone, my name is Mark Goode and I’m very excited to be working at Lanna for the 2023-24 academic year and beyond. I’m a qualified teacher from the UK with an Early Years specialism who has been teaching for nearly ten years. I have taught at international schools in Malta, southern Thailand and China, alongside government schools in London, my home city. I am passionate about teaching young children, and I love providing a fun, safe environment for them to learn and grow. In my spare time I play music (guitar mostly), sing, paint, hike, cook, practise martial arts, read (a lot) and play board games. I have a deep deep love for old American music such as blues, jazz, soul and funk, and all the myriad offshoots and relations. I strive to bring this love of music, art and creativity to my classroom. I very much look forward to being part of the Lanna team.

I have always been a traveler. From a young age, I have often traveled between Hong Kong and Canada. After getting my PGCE, I worked in Ukraine, Beijing, and Hong Kong. I am thrilled to join Lanna for the next chapter of my life.��

After living in a couple of places, I encountered many failures and made many mistakes in my life. But I also have success stories and tons of good memories along the way. I believe it is essential to help young learners build a growth mindset, appreciate those failures as a part of learning, and celebrate those "A-ha" moments together.

Aside from teaching, I also enjoy several hobbies that help me relax and appreciate the small things in life. I am particularly interested in cooking, hiking, listening to podcasts, and traveling. I’m Sascha Singh. I am originally from the UK, and have spent much of my life travelling as much as I can. I’ve been living in Chiang Mai for the last two years, although I intended it to be only one, I have definitely fallen in love with Thailand and its people. I’ve been a teacher for five years, qualifying in the UK with my postgraduate. I love sharing my enthusiasm for learning with my classes and I am consistently surprised with how much I learn on a daily basis. Before teaching, I was an actor and writer for theatre. I still write often and have work published on three continents. In the rest of my free time, I love to dive and swim as much as I can.

I have been involved within the realm of PE teaching since 2009 as a teaching assistant at numerous schools in England whilst studying at University. After undertaking my teacher training in Wales I remained there and taught for a couple of years. I then moved to Thailand to help run a PE department here for 2 more years and then the opportunity to join the Lanna team became available. I have heard nothing but great things about Lanna international school, so I was eager to join and add my enthusiasm and passion for PE here.

After completing my degree, I worked for Disney on their private island in the Bahamas as a lifeguard for 2 years. I wanted a change of scenery and moved to Thailand in 2016 where I taught P.E. and Health. I realised this was my passion so I went back to South Africa and completed my PGCE (2018).
My teaching philosophy is about creating an inclusive environment where students are able to express themselves in a safe manner. I believe that each and every student has something valuable to bring to the class and this should be used to engage and encourage each other.
My hobbies include surfing, bodyboarding, kitesurfing, swimming and volunteering as a lifeguard. When I am not close to the ocean, I enjoy surfskate, wakeboarding and going to the gym.

Hello, my name is Shannon and I am very much looking forward to joining the Lanna team. I am a certified Primary Teacher from Scotland. I have been working and supporting children within a school setting and as part of extra-curricular activities for many years. I am recently qualified and have been teaching in Scottish primary schools for the past 2 years, working across a range of ages. I am passionate about teaching and creating a safe and secure environment to allow learners to be supported and grow.
I have spent many years working in sports settings teaching and coaching younger children in order to get the best out of them and helping them to reach their goals. I believe participation in both PE and sports can support positive wellbeing and help all children to be successful.
I enjoy taking part in a range of sports, travelling and learning new things.

My name is Mack Sissine. I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, but I’ve spent most of my career teaching PE, coaching basketball, and serving as an Athletic Director in Thailand, Italy, and Japan.
