Each year Chiang Mai’s Citylife magazine runs a writing competition as part of the Dublin Literary awards. It is an annual competition that asks students to write a piece of about a thousand words inspired by a given title. This year the title was “Moving Forward” and students were given free rein to interpret that title in any way they wanted.
Harry Creber, Y12, wrote a very interesting and thought provoking essay on some of the positive, and many of the less desirable, impacts of our constant drive to 鈥渕ove forwards鈥. He came first in the competition and not only won 10,000 Baht and the opportunity to intern at CityLife, but also gets the opportunity to go to the final in Bangkok at the end of this week.
Harry鈥檚 essay is attached here. It will also be printed in the Citylife magazine and, more importantly, in the Lanna Quarterly!
Congratulations Harry, and good luck in Bangkok.
