Last week, the ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Award students went on a practice hike to Doi Kham temple and beyond. The DofE ºÚÁϲ»´òìÈ Award is a challenging and adventurous opportunity that we are excited to offer to our students. As well as developing a wide range of skills and confidence it helps to give LANNA students an edge over others when applying for university. During the hike, students had to rely on their navigation skills to find their way up to the temple and into the jungle, and all of the students did very well in this regard without anyone getting too lost! The students exhibited fantastic leadership skills and all worked well in their groups, and a great day was had by all.
We are proud that during the last year we have had 15 students who successfully met all of the challenging DofE requirements and have received their Bronze Awards. In order to achieve this they have completed a total of 52 hours or more of Voluntary Community Service, Skills Development, and Physical Recreation – as well as 4 separate adventurous journeys, including two overnight hikes.
For this academic year, we have had incredible uptake, with 25 new students enrolling onto the Bronze Award programme. This is in addition to the 12 students already enrolled and continuing with their Bronze award that they began working towards last year – giving us an impressive 37 Bronze candidates in total.
