Lanna School Safeguarding and Child Protection

Lanna started as a small family run school over 30 years ago. In the early days everyone knew each other; teachers knew all the students, students knew all the teachers and many of the parents, guardians and families were actively involved in the life of the school and the care of children. Teachers, students and parents alike often talked about feeling part of the 鈥淟anna Family,鈥 a caring, if somewhat sprawling community.

As the school grew this sense of community and mutual care naturally became adopted as part of the School Vision 鈥渁cademic excellence in a caring community.鈥

Over the years the school has grown and become more successful with students regularly moving on to top universities around the world. Although the school community is much bigger and it’s no longer possible for us all to know each other, the importance of maintaining a caring community is as important today as it鈥檚 always been. Central to maintaining this caring community is the Lanna School Safeguarding Team.聽

At Lanna School we have a team of dedicated safeguarding representatives with a Designated Safeguarding Lead and a team of named staff who work in every section of the school from Early Years through to Sixth Form (Y12/13) who act as a point of contact for students, parents and children alike. The safeguarding team meet regularly throughout the year and work across all school sections to maintain the safety of all students, both at home and at school.

Further to this, all staff complete annual mandatory safeguarding training in keeping with guidelines set out in our Safeguarding Policies and Procedures.

When visiting the school please help us look after all the children at Lanna and familiarise yourself with the guidelines for parents.

It鈥檚 the responsibility of all adults to protect children from harm.
